A FEW WORDS FOR THE WEEK BEGINNING SUNDAY, JANUARY 30th, 2011
MR. ENTHUSIASM IS HERE IN PERSON!!!
By Pastor Richard Todd
Join me in giving a WHITTIER WELCOME to Ed Lewis today. Ed is from Winona Lake, Indiana and also Philadelphia, PA (yes, he lives in two cities but one at a time). I’ll let him explain. Ask me after the service if you would like to join our lunch group in taking Ed out (not the Mafia kind).
Next Sunday morning will be a WORSHIP SERVICE ONLY Sunday as we are meeting right next door at 7630 Washington Avenue for worship at 10:45. That means no homemade goodies that so many of you bring and no Adult Bible Fellowships. Everything is regular on February 13.
There have been four in-person speakers this month giving World Impact reports right here in our services. Do you know who they are? Here are their initials: EL, PM, TK, and TA). Read the end of my note to you if you need help with the names (How’s that Estella? She asked for a little help since she is not always in person with us in worship and receives my article via email).
I announced some good news on January 23rd. That news was PLANS ARE APPROVED and AGGRESSIVE PRELIMINARY CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITY has begun on our new church home at 8109 Greenleaf Avenue.
I will be joining other pastors, missionaries and church leaders from this Southwest area of the country starting tomorrow for several days of prayer and study in the Scriptures. We call this gathering the SOUTHWEST FOCUS RETREAT. A group of our national leaders and missionaries (including Ed Lewis and TK plus others that you know and pray for will be in attendance. Pray for us in our time together. Dan Allen will be the main speaker/leader and we will be studying Ephesians 3. I return to Whittier at the end of the week.

CE National gathering tonight at Bellflower Brethren. If you want to caravan or get a ride meet at our Washington Blvd. Conference Center at 5:30pm.
Happy anniversary to Sarah Castro. What anniversary is she celebrating? The anniversary of her new heart that she received in January, 20 years ago. And be sure to say hi to Frank and June and take a look at their new car before you leave today (LOL).
Walk for Life is March 5th. Let’s get a group organized.
ANSWERS: Ed Lewis, Patty Morris, Timothy Kurtaneck and Tom Avey.
God’s best to you,
Pastor Richard
