A FEW WORDS FOR THE WEEK BEGINNING SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 13, 2010

PASTOR PICNICS ON GREENLEAF AVENUE???

By Pastor Richard

What was I doing this past Thursday around noon sitting at a table outside our new church home eating a hotdog and cake with whipped cream frosting with fresh strawberries underneath the whipped cream? Celebrating a birthday of one of our staff while watching the bulldozer preparing our new parking lot. I’m sure you are driving by whenever you are nearby because I hear you honking and waving. And while I mention birthdays, our records say it is Mando’s birthday today.

It’s nice to be back today in our regular temporary place where we gather each Sunday. The plan is to meet here each week at 9:30 for Adult Bible Fellowships and then at 10:45 for worship until we move in at our new church campus at 8109 Greenleaf Avenue. I announced to you on February 6 to stay tuned each week for any and all updates and our final move-in schedule.

Olga Mitchell sends her greetings and the good news that she is heading home from the care facility she has been at so hold up on your visits till she is settled at home. We will pass the word to you from her family.

I shared with you the story of a wonderful church that found itself in trouble. What was the name of that church? Did I preach from the Old Testament or the New Testament on February 6th? And did I speak in reference to SUPPLICATIONS or SERVICE? And what did the acrostic for H.E.A.R.T. stand for?

Thanks for all the help you were to our students who participated in WILLING WORKERS this past weekend. They had a great time (and returned safely).

My wife, Claudia, and myself are serving on the team planning the MAYOR’S PRAYER BREAKFAST for our city this year. You can get more details at www.whittierprayer.org or ask Claudia.

Remember guys, tomorrow is Valentine’s Day.

God’s best to you,

Pastor Richard

QUOTE OF THE WEEK #1

SHE’S BEEN WAITING FOR YOU FOR WEEKS

Mrs. Thompson is our contact at the care facility where our students went caroling just before Christmas in the recent holiday season. She mentioned one of the clients who so looks forward to our students visit and singing each year.

NOTE: Sorry but I haven’t had room to share this blessing with you sooner yet I trust it will bless you any day of the year.

QUOTE OF THE WEEK #2

I’VE NOTICED EVERYBODY THAT IS FOR ABORTION HAS ALREADY BEEN BORN

Mentioned by former President Ronald Reagan during his time in office
